This is ideal day for nature lovers of all kinds, with highlights of stunning views of glaciers, waterfalls, black lava, sand coast lines and impressive rock formations.
From Minna-Mosfell Guesthouse you drive (1) towards Hveragerði, the greenhouse town, enjoying the lava scenery from the car. On a clear day the view from Kambabrún is unforgettable all the way to Vestmannaeyjar islands. From Hveragerði you continue on road 1 through the towns of Selfoss, Hella and Hvolsvöllur to Seljalandsfoss, where you can walk behind the plummeting waterfall. From there you drive through the farming area that suffered most from the eruption from Eyjafjallajökull 2010, and can visit a little eruption museum. Skógar is the next destination with a walk up to the beautiful Skógafoss waterfall and a visit to the fantastic Skógar museum .
For many is that the place to turn back to Minna-Mosfell Guesthouse, but some might like to add 33 km more along the south cost to visit the little charming village Vík, surrounded by beautiful high bird cliffs as well as spectacular cliffs out in the sea. There is a most adventurous knitting centre Vík Prjónsdóttir
Driving back the same road (1) you have the option just after Selfoss to turn to your right on road 35 Biskupstungnabraut, and then soon turn to your left on road 36 that will take you through the National park at Þingvellir and all the way to Minna-Mosfell Guesthouse.
